Location is extremely important. Our intake is located directly alongside \n the battery just behind the cold air intake. It does not extend down into \n the lower bumper area thus reducing the chance of taking in water when driving \n in the rain or through puddles. \n Each intake comes with a composite heat shield that seals the cold air intake area from the engine heat. Composite has been chosen instead of metal to better insulate the cold air intake compartment from the engine heat. Metal is an ideal conductor of heat, the wrong material for the job. \n Large size induction pipe of 76 mm to closely match mass air flow sensor diameter. Some competing units use smaller tubing because it is easier work with. Freedom Design uses the correct larger size pipe to maximize the intake charge into the engine for maximum horsepower gain. A little more work but the best results. \n Intake includes special \n aluminum connection pipe to connect directly to air pump hose. Very clean \n installation. \n Enhanced induction sound.
